Advancing Automated Facade Access Systems with Skyline Robotics

Facade Access Solutions partners with Skyline Robotics to introduce OZMO, a next-generation robotic window cleaning and facade inspection system used in major cities like New York. This partnership strengthens our ability to deliver innovative facade access solutions that support safer building maintenance, higher efficiency and long-term asset performance. With automated cleaning technology and real-time data insights, OZMO helps building owners adopt smarter and more sustainable facade care strategies.

OZMO uses LiDAR, optical cameras and advanced sensors to scan and map each drop with accuracy. The system operates day or night and performs reliably in a wide temperature range. It runs on a 230V single-phase power supply and uses deionized water for cleaning. The hardware is IP65 rated and supported by high-speed data connectivity. With most components available off the shelf and remote monitoring capabilities, OZMO offers reliable operation with low energy and water consumption, making it ideal for modern facade maintenance programs.

Performance results show the impact of Skyline Robotics technology when paired with industry-leading facade access systems:

  1. 1. Cleaning speed reached up to 4,000 square feet per hour, supported by precise LiDAR mapping and coordinated sensors
  2. 2. Human hours on the facade were reduced by up to 75 percent, strengthened by 24/7 operation and a 750 pound safe working load
  3. 3. Project duration dropped from 18 to 19 workdays to as few as 5, improving overall building maintenance cycles
  4. 4. Buildings moved to continuous day and night cleaning, supported by IP65 protection and stable power and communication systems
  5. 5. Water usage stayed efficient at 0.15 to 0.2 liters per minute, with up to 30 percent recovered
  6. 6. More than 99 percent of parts are available off the shelf, making service and maintenance predictable for owners

This partnership combines the strength of Facade Access Solutions with the innovation of Skyline Robotics, offering a powerful automated platform that raises facade maintenance standards across the globe.

Articulated Mechatronic System (AMS)

The Articulated Mechatronic System (AMS) is an advanced façade access solution engineered to redefine modern Building Maintenance Units. Developed by Manntech and delivered through Façade Access Solutions, AMS integrates mechatronic engineering with intelligent control to support efficient and sustainable high rise building maintenance.

Unlike conventional BMUs, AMS features a lightweight structural concept that significantly reduces rooftop loads. The optimized design enables up to 40 percent faster installation and uses around 20 percent less material. This lowers structural reinforcement requirements and supports cost efficient project delivery. Reduced material use also contributes to lower embodied carbon and improved environmental performance.

The system incorporates precision motion control and smart automation. Operators benefit from enhanced maneuverability across complex façade geometries. Integrated remote monitoring allows real time performance tracking and predictive maintenance planning, helping extend equipment lifespan and minimize downtime.

Core System Capabilities:

  • Reduced structural load and material consumption
  • Accelerated installation timelines
  • Improved access to complex building façades
  • Smart diagnostics and predictive maintenance capability

AMS represents a future focused façade access technology that aligns with sustainable design strategies and evolving architectural complexity.
