Engineering a fully integrated BMU and abseiling strategy for Dubai’s tallest residential clock tower
Dubai, UAE – 18 May 2026 – Facade Access Solutions, through its CoxGomyl brand, has been appointed to deliver the facade access strategy for Aeternitas Tower, a 450-metre landmark development rising 106 floors above Dubai Marina and set to become the world’s tallest residential clock tower.
Developed by London Gate in partnership with Swiss luxury watchmaker Franck Muller, Aeternitas Tower combines haute horology-inspired design with modern engineering on one of Dubai’s most prestigious waterfront sites. The tower’s signature feature is a monumental Franck Muller clock crown, which will illuminate the Marina skyline and create a distinctive visual identity that separates the development from conventional high-rise architecture.
For Facade Access Solutions, the project represents a complex engineering challenge: providing complete, long-term facade coverage for a tower whose roofline is dominated by an architectural clock structure rather than a conventional crown.

Located in one of Dubai’s most prestigious waterfront destinations, Aeternitas Tower offers uninterrupted views of Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah, and the wider city skyline. The branded residences combine refined interiors with elevated lifestyle amenities, shaped by Swiss-inspired design principles.
Every aspect of the tower, from the grand entrance experience to the sky-level amenities, has been designed to deliver sophistication at scale, reflecting a vision in which architecture and engineering work in close partnership.
Supporting the tower’s ambitious architectural design is a highly engineered facade access strategy delivered by Facade Access Solutions through its CoxGomyl brand. The project incorporates a fully powered drum hoist Building Maintenance Unit (BMU) equipped with a single jib reach of 4.9 metres and a 2.5-metre standard cradle. The BMU also includes a 500 kg auxiliary hoist to support specialised maintenance operations.
The BMU system traverses on a twin-track configuration positioned below the iconic clock structure, enabling access across all four sides of the tower. This advanced solution has been designed to support long-term facade maintenance while maintaining operational efficiency on one of Dubai’s most visually distinctive towers.
In addition, Facade Access Solutions is delivering a comprehensive range of abseiling solutions, including soffit rails for clock maintenance, abseiling rails for tower cleaning, and dedicated anchorage systems for tower crown maintenance. These systems are engineered to improve cleaning cycles and ensure safe access across the structure’s complex architectural features.
